Why vape prices are going up
Simple reason:
China removed a tax refund that helped keep export prices low.
What changed:
China used to give vape manufacturers a tax refund when they exported products.
Now, that refund is gone.
What that means:
Before
Manufacturers paid tax → got part of it back → kept prices lower.
Now
Manufacturers pay tax → get nothing back → costs go up.
Why you’re seeing higher prices:
Most vapes are made in China.
Factories pay more, so they raise prices on distributors, and that increase flows down to stores and customers
In short:
Higher factory costs
= Higher wholesale prices
= Higher retail prices
